A group of the former president’s supporters descended on the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Thursday marks a year since Zuma was arrested for ignoring a Constitutional Court order to appear before the commission of inquiry into state capture.

Zuma's incarceration marked the beginning of civil unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

Nkosentsha Shezi of the ANC was among the protestors outside the magistrate's court.

"The brutality and sheer thuggery was proceeded the arrest of president Jacob Zuma displayed a malicious abuse of power and an evil intent to see him behind bars at all costs by forces that clearly control the current president."

The group, comprising members of different parties including ATM, EFF and the People Revolutionary Movement, banded under the name One Voice Movement.

They also want feedback on the case opened against President Cyril Ramaphosa nearly three weeks ago in connection with the theft of money at his Limpopo farm.

They handed over a memorandum to the station commander of Durban Central Police Station.

"There has been zero action by the law enforcement agencies instead, we have seen very aggressive acts of defence such as suspension of the public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane after she had submitted 31 investigative questions demanding accountability from the first citizen of the country."
