Zuma sacked as chair of SANCO in KZN
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
Former president Jacob Zuma has been sacked as the KZN chair of the South African National Civic Organisation.

SANCO is one of the ANC’s alliance partners.
Zuma recently threw his weight behind the newly formed MK Party, saying he won’t campaign or vote for the ANC during the upcoming general elections.
The civic organisation previously said Zuma’s decision to distance himself from the ANC wouldn’t impact his position at SANCO.

Speaking Durban on Friday, SANCO’s KZN secretary Sizwe Cele said Zuma violated the organisation's constitution by failing to attend any of its last three meetings.
"Comrade Zuma has not submitted any written or verbal apology to the provincial secretary. The PEC of KwaZulu was therefore left with no other option but to consider comrade Zuma's behaviour as misconduct.
"Such a misconduct is classified as abscondment of the office. The PEC resolved to remove him from the office of the provincial office of SANCO KwaZulu-Natal. The latest communication and decision has been set."
