Zuma move away from ANC 'signals his imminent departure'
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
A political analyst says former president Jacob Zuma's political U-turn from the ANC could signal his imminent departure from the organisation.

Zuma announced at the weekend that he’s throwing his support behind the recently established uMkhonto weSizwe political party.
He says he won’t be voting for the ANC in next year’s elections, adding it would be a betrayal to campaign for the ANC of current President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Zuma's stressed though that he is still a party member.

Analyst Levy Ndoe says while Zuma isn’t publicly confirming his exit from the ANC his actions speak otherwise.
"The ANC should be ready for the formation of more political parties because everybody who is a politician would like to contest the ANC."
"The ANC should be ready that other members of the ANC who realize that their life span in the party has expired and they feel they still have a contribution to make, they will form political parties or join other political parties."
