Zuma expected to speak frankly at second day of ANC cadres gathering

President Jacob Zuma is expected to speak more candidly at the ANC's Cadres Forum in KwaDukuza today - as the media will not be allowed to attend.
He told supporters at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall during the event last night, that he had planned on speaking openly about current issues facing the ANC and the country - but chose not to yesterday on account of a strong media.
Speaking mostly in IsiZulu, Zuma said the party was blind in 2007 to not see the seriousness of the cracks of division within it when members broke away to form the Congress of the People (Cope).
"The challenge that we face today is that the political power has reached a point where if it does not have control of the economy it will be undermined by those who are controlling the economy," he said.
Zuma slammed stalwarts, without mentioning names, for expressing their concerns about the party at organised press briefings.
"Hate amongst cadres who fought together in the trenches is rife," he said.
Zuma warned the ANC to make sure they have control of all three pillars of state - the economy, political power, and the security of the country.
He says the ruling party currently only has political power - which is under threat, as the August elections have proven.
Zuma also blamed a third force for the ANC’s problems, referring to people who he says are investigating him, as well as others who have made tapes discrediting others, but have found no wrong-doing on his part.
