The party's NEC gathered at the St George Hotel in Pretoria - emerging out of the 13-hour meeting at three this morning.

The ANC's post National Executive Committee meeting press briefing was initially scheduled for 12-o'clock today - but was pushed back by two hours.

The party says this was done to ensure that all necessary communication protocols - including direct communication to ANC structures on the NEC decision - are complied with.

It's been widely reported that the NEC has decided to recall Zuma and that the party's leadership would write to the president informing him of their decision.

The NEC met for 13 hours on the issue from yesterday afternoon - wrapping up their discussions at about 3am today.

Whatever the outcome of the meetings, South Africans are waiting to hear what the immediate impact on the country's leadership will be.
