Zuma drops bid to review State's prosecution charges
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Former president, Jacob Zuma has abandoned plans to launch an application to review the State’s decision to prosecute him on fraud and corruption charges.

He now wants a permanent stay of prosecution.
This morning - Zuma's new legal representative, Advocate Mike Hellens told the Pietermaritzburg High Court that they plan to file the application by mid-November.
Thales - the French arms manufacturer he stands accused with - is also seeking a permanent stay of prosecution application.
Earlier this week, the NPA refused its representations to withdraw the charges against it - with the high court today hearing that Thales may, in fact, be facing an additional charge.
The matter has been provisionally adjourned until the end of November.
In the meantime, the State’s been ordered to provide the defence with a final indictment within the next two weeks.
