Zuma calls for corruption trial to be struck off, NPA responds
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Jacob Zuma Foundation is demanding that the corruption matter against the former president be struck off the roll, citing another postponement in the case.

The matter is due back in the Pietermaritzburg High Court tomorrow.
In a statement released last night, the foundation says it's been told that the state will only be ready to begin Zuma's trial on the 17th of May this year.
It says there has been no reason given for the "postponement" and it violates the former president's rights.

Zuma and French arms company, Thales are facing corruption charges.
In response to the statement, the NPA's Sipho Ngwema says it is not true that the matter has been postponed. " The matter is scheduled for Tuesday and in fact, there has been a suggested date between the state and Thales in terms of their availability which is May. However, it is only the court that can decide."
