Party leader Jacob Zuma is expected to address thousands of supporters shortly. ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe says the party is holding its Siyanqoba rally today as they wrap up their elections campaign. Mantashe says they have been hard at work trying to ensure an ANC victory.

"The Siyanqoba rally is a mop-up rally to end our campaigns. We have been hard at work for a long time so now we are closing our campaigns," he said.

The party's head of elections and campaigns Nomvula Mokonyane says they are winning all municipalities including Midvaal currently governed by the DA. Mokonyane says they have been to the people and listening to their issues, now it's time to implement their manifesto.

"We have gone to the people and sat them through our 5 year success program and listened to them. Now we have our mayoral candidates," she said.

"We are now ready to take our manifesto forward. We are winning all municipalities including Midvaal and Cape Town. We never go to battle to lose," Mokonyane said.
