Zondo seeks extension to complete final state capture report
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has acknowledged he underestimated the volumes of information that he and his team would have to process for the final instalment of the state capture report.
This is why he's asking for an extension to complete their work.
Zondo's filed documents in the High Court in Pretoria, asking that the commission's term be extended until the end of April.
According to the court documents, Zondo admits it's taking his team longer to complete the work.
This, he says, is because they have encountered challenges, when it came to accessing certain documents.

Zondo says he takes full responsibility for the third report and that portions of it will be on the president's desk on the 28th of February.
These will deal with allegations of state capture at Eskom, Bosasa, the State Security Agency and attempts to capture National Treasury.
The court's expected to hear the application for the extension next week.
