Zikalala warns against gatherings amid calls to converge on Nkandla

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala says police will deal with any large gathering in the province.
He was asked about the groups of people set to make their way to the Nkandla home of former president Jacob Zuma.
Zuma's son, Edward Zuma, reportedly called on supporters to ignore Covid-19 regulations and converge outside the former president's home.

The Constitutional Court this week gave Zuma five days to hand himself over to police after sentencing him to 15 months in jail.
Speaking at a media briefing in Durban on Wednesday, Zikalala didn't answer the question directly, but said that no gatherings are allowed anywhere in the province.
"Right now as government, we are guided by the approach we are applying on disaster management and therefore that is applicable to all areas to KwaZulu-Natal.
"Where there is a problem of people who converge as a crowd we will need to attend to that through proper processes.

"Therefore that is what we can say that the police have a responsibility to deal with that through ensuring that those who are gathered - we are not allowing any gathering."
