Zikalala: Unregistered elderly will be helped at vaccination sites
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has urged senior citizens, who are unable to register for the Covid-19 vaccine on their own, to walk to their nearest vaccination site.
He says staff at the facilities will help them register as they arrive.
Zikalala visited Mtubatuba and Hluhluwe in northern KZN on Tuesday.

He wants registration for the jab to pick up in rural communities.
"Even those who have not registered, when they get into the vaccination centre they get registered and then they get vaccinated on the same day,” he said.
"So we encourage people to register, but equally those who cannot register - once they know that there is the nearest centre of vaccination, they must go and vaccinate."

At the start of phase 3 of the vaccine rollout, the Health Department said it was aiming to have 5 million elderly people inoculated by the end of this month.
