Zikalala throws weight behind Zuma
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
African National Congress (ANC) KZN chairperson and premier, Sihle Zikalala says former president Jacob Zuma won't be left to fight his court battles alone.
"As the ANC, we want to make it clear that we want to negotiate and engage with that national executive committee. We stand with President Zuma," Zikalala said.
He addressed supporters outside the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday, after Zuma's corruption case was postponed to next Wednesday.

It emerged that Zuma's counsel plans to bring a special plea to ask Prosecutor Billy Downer to recuse himself from the case.
The court also heard that Zuma intends to plead not guilty to charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering linked to the multi-BILLION-rand arms deal.
The NPA's Sipho Ngwema told reporters outside court that Downer has been with the Prosecuting Authority for almost two decades.
"The only thing is that they dont want to deal or bring other issues through the back door - substantial issues with regards to what they have been raising. We are hoping that we will be able to start the trial as soon as possible."
