Disaster management officials say they have attended to a few incidents as a result of this week's heavy rains and storms.
"We are grateful that there is no one who lost his life or her life, but we have suffered damages to properties," says KZN Cooperative Governance MEC Sihle Zikalala.
"Some people have lost houses already, although most of the houses that have been damaged were partially damaged. That affected the areas of Ilembe, uMzinyathi, Ugu and some areas within Umgungundlovu."
The heavy rain has left over 1 500 households without electricity.

Zikalala says they have been told that more rain is expected.
"Although we expect that the rain will subside today and tomorrow, but we are also warned that over the weekend, KwaZulu-Natal will have heavy rains. We want to alert people to be cautious.
"They don't have to stay in areas that are close to the river. They need to be in areas that are really protected."
