KZN Premier
Sihle Zikalala says the Covid-19 crisis and climate change must be tackled
simultaneously.
He addressed the Under 2 Coalition General Assembly last night and spoke about the provincial government's response to climate change.
The coalition is a global community of state and regional governments committed to ambitious climate action in line with the Paris Agreement.
Zikalala says KZN's launched programmes and campaigns in response to the climate emergency. He says they've teamed up with the community, private sector, and government.
"We are exploring more green options through waste management, biodiversity economy, blue economy, green tourism and others. A number of researches are being conducted aiming to ensure that we create more jobs that help preserve nature,” Zikalala said.
