Zikalala adamant KZN not experiencing water crisis
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala says there is no water crisis in the province.
But Zikalala has admitted that in all districts of KZN, the current supply of water falls short of meeting demand.
He was speaking in Durban on Wednesday, where he met with Water Minister Senzo Mchunu and other officials to discuss water supply challenges.
Zikalala says although there is a shortage of water in the province, it's still early to declare a crisis.
"If you go back to KwaZulu-Natal around 2012 - 2013 we had a drought and you will see cattle dying and that is a crisis.
"But right now, you don't have that situation. There is no crisis, but we have problems in specific areas."
