Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The corruption case against former eThekwini Mayor, Zandile Gumede and her 16 co-accused is back on the roll, in the Durban Commercial Crimes Court today.

They're facing charges linked to a DSW tender dating back to 2016. Service providers were allegedly paid hundreds of millions of brands but the municipality got nothing in return.
Previously, prosecutors asked for a further postponement in the case - saying they still have to gather bank statements and cell phone records.

The State Prosecutor said their investigations were hit by delays due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The State was given a six-week adjournment to wrap up its probe.
Advocate Jay Naidoo - who's representing Gumede and two others - has told us that IF the investigation isn't concluded by today - he plans on bringing an application to strike the matter off the roll - until it is.
