Youth should explore opportunities in agriculture: KZN farmer

A young woman farmer feels many job opportunities in the agricultural sector are being overlooked by the country's unemployed youth.
Agro-processor, Ntwenhle Mchunu says there are many aspects to agriculture.
Mchunu says her decision to get into the industry was informed by the fact that many young people did not get absorbed into the careers they studied for.
She says in her field there are many opportunities for graduates to apply their scientific knowledge.

"There is Agri-Tech for people who are into technology - we need that. We need to save water so we need to find new technologies to save water," she said.
Mchunu spoke to Newswatch in Ixopo yesterday at the launch of government's VULA programme, aimed at empowering the local business sector.
