Youth League must listen to ANC: SACP

The South African Communist Party in KwaZulu-Natal is urging the ANC Youth League in the province to tow the line and listen to its mother-body

The comments form the latest round of mud-slinging between the two organisations.

The SACP reacted yesterday to recent allegations that they are concocting conspiracy theories with the aim of dividing the league.

The SACP's Nomarashiya Caluza accused the league of trying to define itself outside of the ANC and its alliance.

She quoted a national executive committee statement by ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe last month, in which the party distanced itself from what it called "the unbecoming and divisive tendencies of the youth league's leadership clique in KZN".

"The above clearly demonstrates the characters we are dealing with in this instance. They allege that we need to engage with them politically. How can we engage with them when they defy their own principals, the ANC," she said.
