Workers want government to bail Post Office out
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Striking South African Post Office workers are calling on government to intervene at the parastatal by bailing it out.
Hundreds of employees affiliated to the Communication Workers' Union have been marching in the Durban CBD over a pay dispute.
They say they haven't receive salary adjustments in the last two years.

The Communication worker's unions provincial secretary Thami Mzileni says it is time government intervened.
"When South African Airways and Eskom where in financial crisis, government rescued them with no questions asked.
"Now we are saying what is wrong with the Post Office [being bailed out]? It's in crisis not because of the workers but because of the executive who looted the money and they continue to live a luxurious life.
"No criminal charges have been laid against them even though the public protector has given a report with recommendations [after finding ] that there has been corruption for the last five years,'' he said.
The marchers have arrived at the SAPO offices in the city centre where there is a heavy police presence.
The gates are locked and they've called for management to come out and receive their memorandum of demands.
