Work starts to repair vandalised Umlazi pump station
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
eThekwini Municipality says its teams have been making progress after work to repair a recently vandalised water pump station in Umlazi began again.
The city says it had just sorted out a technical fault at station 4 last week when the vandals struck.
This led to water supply interruptions in Z, AA and BB sections.

The municipality's Lindiwe Khuzwayo says their repair teams were busy installing electric cables and control panels on Monday.
"We anticipate that water supply to all the affected areas will be fully restored by Thursday, 15 June 2023. In the meantime, water tankers have been sent to the affected areas.
"The city continues to appeal to community members to work with it to clamp down on the destruction of government infrastructure, as this unlawful conduct impedes service delivery and frustrates communities. Residents are urged to report the perpetrators to law enforcement."
