Woolies looter avoids jail time
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The so-called Woolies looter has been sentenced to three years imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years.

Mbuso Moloi was filmed carrying a basket of goods out of a Woolworths store in Durban's Essenwood suburb during the July unrest.
The shop was being looted at the time.
Moloi loaded the groceries in the boot of his Mercedes-Benz and drove off.
In March, he pleaded guilty to theft.

The Durban Regional Court on Friday sentenced him to correctional supervision for 18 months.
He must also do free community service for 16 hours every month.
Moloi has been ordered to undergo rehabilitation programmes that will be set by the Correctional Services Department.
He was also handed a fine R1 000, wholly suspended, for driving a car without licence plates.
In handing the sentence, Magistrate Melanie de Jager said it was clear Moloi had made the biggest mistake of his life.
She said his actions not only humiliated his family, but also impacted society at large.
