Women-in-uniform march through Durban CBD

Women-in-uniform are marching through the Durban CBD this morning in honour of Women's Month.
Durban Metro Police say women serving in the army, navy, Department of Correctional Services and police are making their way to the Durban City Hall.

Some road closures have already been implemented around the precinct - these include Dorothy Nyembe and Dr Pixley KaSeme streets (formerly Gardiner and West).Road closures are expected to be in place until midday.
Durban Metro Police spokesperson Parboo Sewpersadh says rolling road closures will be used to ensure routes are reopened as the parade passes through.

Sewpersadh says plans are in place to ensure congestion is allowed to clear during the lunchtime and afternoon travel peaks.Show's Stories
