Woman's death brings Glebelands murders to 92
A 30-year-old woman is the latest murder victim at Umlazi's Glebelands Hostel.
Police say she was gunned down while she was doing her laundry last night.
The woman is the 92nd person killed at the hostel since 2014.
The police's Thulani Zwane says no arrests have been made. The motive for the attack hasn't yet been established.
"At about 8.30pm, a woman was doing her laundry when she was shot and killed by an unknown suspect. A case of murder has been opened at the Umlazi police station. Anyone with information is being encouraged to come forward," he says.
Glebelands came under the spotlight at the Moerane Commission of Inquiry - probing political violence in the province recently. The commission heard how some of KZN's most notorious hitmen live at the hostel.
