Woman's burnt body found in Midlands cane fields
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A KZN farmer has uncovered the burnt remains of a woman on his property in New Hanover, in the Midlands.

"It is alleged that the farmer was driving his vehicle, in between the sugarcane fields, when he saw a dead body in the area. He then alerted the police. When the police arrived, they noticed it was the body of a woman," says the police's Thulani Zwane.
He says the body, which had been found on Saturday, was burnt beyond recognition.
The woman has not yet been identified.
"A case of inquest has been opened for further investigation. We are also appealing to anyone who might have their family members missing, to go to New Hanover Police Station so that they can help police by identifying the body that was found," he says.
