Woman shot in parking bay row, truck driver faces charges
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
A truck driver is facing attempted murder charges - after a woman was shot in the leg in an apparent road rage incident outside a Durban North shopping complex.

It’s alleged the truck driver and the woman were quarrelling over a parking bay outside Kensington Square.
It’s understood the situation escalated when the woman took out a gun.
"The driver was busy reversing the truck when he was approached by the woman. After an argument over parking, the woman drew a firearm and pointed it at the driver. The driver then drew his firearm and fired shots at the woman who sustained injuries on the leg. The victim was then taken to hospital for medical attention. The charges of attempted murder were opened against the driver," police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala explained.

Marshall Security and Crisis Medical Managing director Tyron Powell says their medics responded to the scene.
"This afternoon just before 1pm - we received multiple calls of a shooting incident that occurred in Kensington Drive outside the bar. We dispatched our ambulance and reaction vehicles to the scene. On arrival, there was a female that had been shot. She was stabilised and transported to Addington Hospital. The scene was then handed over to the SA police," Powell said.
