Woman severely hurt after fall at Kloof Gorge

Emergency teams worked for three hours to bring a woman, who fell at Kloof Gorge, west of Durban, to safety.

They'd responded to reports that the 39-year-old had been lying at the bottom of the gorge, next to Molweni River on Sunday.
She appeared to have slipped on a rock and suffered severe head and neck injuries.

Paramedics stabilised her on the scene before hiking for almost two hours to get the injured woman to a medical chopper.
"Due to the severity of the patients injuries and access to vehicles whilst Rescue Care Advanced Life Support Paramedic worked to stabilise the lady the Netcare911 Aeromedical Helicopter to assist in transporting the lady to a specialist facility." says Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson.
