Woman killed in Phoenix flat fire

The body of a woman has been found in a third floor flat that was gutted by a fire in Phoenix, north of Durban.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa, residents noticed smoke billowing out of the apartment on Everham Road in Westham.
"Upon arrival we were met with firefighters from the eThekwini Fire Department who informed us that a bound was recovered inside the house," says Reaction Unit's Prem Balram.

"The victim was found inside burnt beyond recognition. Two African grey parrots were also found deceased in the house."
KZN police say officers were still busy at the scene on Monday afternoon.
