Woman found shot dead in car outside PMB
A woman has been shot dead on the N3 near Town Hill outside Pietermaritzburg.
Police say a 31-year-old woman sustained fatal gunshot wounds to her head at about 8pm yesterday.
ER24's Russel Meiring says the vehicle was found with bullet holes.
"ER24 paramedics along with other services responded to the scene after receiving reports of what appears to be a motor-vehicle collision. On our arrival, we found the light motor vehicle up against the roadside barriers.
"A number of what seemed to be bullet holes were discovered in the vehicle. We assessed the driver who was found slumped into the passenger seat. She was found with a wound to her head and unfortunately nothing more could be done for her. She was then declared dead on scene," he said.
A spokesperson says no arrests have been made. Hilton SAPS are investigating a case of murder.
