Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
There's been another drowning incident in the province today, this time south of Durban.
A 20-year-old woman has sadly lost her life while swimming with her family in the mouth of the Illovu River, near Amanzimtoti.
Reports from the scene suggest the woman was swept out to sea after being caught in a strong current.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says lifeguards managed to pull her from the water.
"When paramedics arrived there. Tragically she was declared tragically dead on the scene," he said.
A 24-year-old man drowned in the Umvoti River in a separate incident on the north coast earlier.
