A woman has been killed after being hit and dragged by a taxi in Ezakheni near Ladysmith in northern KZN.
The 27-year-old was struck by the taxi in Yellow Street in the town's industrial area.
ER24's Russel Meiring says they found the woman lying on the side of the road surrounded by bystanders.
''We assessed the woman and found that she had sustained a number of fatal injuries. Unfortunatel, nothing more could be done for the patient and she was declared dead there on the scene.
"Witnesses say that the woman was pulled from beneath the taxi by members of the public. Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the exact causes of the incident," he said.
Meanwhile 14 people are receiving treatment after a taxi and a truck collided on Richmond Road in Pinetown this morning.
