Wits SRC Secretary General Fasiha Hassan who was speaking at a mass meeting yesterday.

"By attempting to force open the academic programme without dealing with the issues does in fact open us up to not just volatility but possibly endangering everyone on campus including students and staff. Unfortunately, there will likely be some issues. It's not something that we want. We will remain peaceful throughout but like I said the situation hasn't changes," she said.

Meanwhile, the University of Pretoria has suspended all lectures today - demanding a mass meeting with all stakeholders over free higher education.

Around 5000 students and members of civil and religious organisations will bring their message of free higher education to the Durban City Centre by marching from Curries Fountain to the Durban Harbour tomorrow. Fees must fall activist and organiser, Thembiso Kashandu has urged everyone to join the march.
