Witnesses of IFP councillor killing urged to come forward

Officials from the KZN Department of Transport are appealing to witnesses who have information about a deadly shooting in Mtubatuba to please come forward.
An IFP councillor and a pupil were gunned down on the R618 on Wednesday afternoon.
Ndukenhle Duma, from Nongoma, was having car trouble and had pulled over to sort out the problem when he was ambushed by unknown gunmen.
Pupils travelling home on a scholar transport vehicle also came under fire.

A child was tragically killed, and four others were wounded.
Transport MEC Sipho Hlomuka has condemned the attack.
Police have swiftly deployed the political killings task team and have been mandated to augment all necessary resources to ensure the tracing and apprehension of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the National Freedom Party has called on all political parties to come together and put an end to these killings.
