"I noticed two guys - they blocked the passageway. Two women were walking up and a guy on the right-hand side with a gun told them to move. As that was happening, the Indian guy was walking up," he says.

Muhammad Joosab had been walking to Westwood Mall where he had worked on Tuesday morning when the two robbers accosted him.

They apparently wanted his phone and stabbed the 22-year-old in the chest and abdomen

The witness - who usually waits for his lift under the bridge - says he and other motorists who had stopped - ran up the bridge to confront the robbers and help Joosab.

"We tried to chase them - but this guy just went down on his knees because of the wounds that he had. We had to try block the blood from coming out. We waited for paramedics. When I left the paramedics were on scene. I then left for work. Minutes later, I checked with ER24 and found out that he had passed away," he says.

Joosab's killers have still not been caught.  The man says he too was attacked by the same robbers last month.

"This happened [to me] the same time - at the exact same spot. One man grabbed me by the neck and pointed a gun to my head. I wrestled him and pulled it down. I realised that it was not a real gun.

"The guy with the knife came up to me. I raised my hand then they grabbed my phone. They wanted to go for my laptop bag but I fought them," he says.
