Widespread calls for President Zuma to step down
Updated | By Suné du Toit
Political parties, business people and civil society organisations have called on President Jacob Zuma to step down.
President Zuma earlier today withdrew his application to interdict the release of the state capture report.
The court has since granted an order directing Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to publish the report by 5pm today.
Save South Africa held a general assembly at St Alban's Cathedral where political and judicial heavyweights spoke out against corruption and state capture in South Africa.

Organiser and ANC stalwart, Sipho Pityana says it takes a lot for leaders in business, religion, politics and civil society at large, to speak out as one.
"All of us as South Africans across the spectrum are concerned about what is happening and would like to find constructive ways to deal with it and ensure there is certainty in our country," says Pityana.
Former Constitutional Court Judge Zak Yacoob did not mince his words.
"If I said now that Jacob Zuma's hands were clean, he would be the first to laugh at me. He said his hands are dirty. We know his hands are dirty," says Yacoob.
Meanwhile, EFF supporters are making their way to the Union Buildings to call of President Zuma to resign.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane has described today's developments as historic.
"That report must be released so we can hold all those who are culpable in that report accountable, but the ultimate call we want to make is that Jacob Zuma must resign," says Maimane.
