Wet weekend expected across the province

The South African Weather Service has issued a 'Watch' for severe thunderstorms over south western parts of the province for this afternoon -- and southern Kwazulu-Natal tomorrow.

Durban kicked Friday off with cloudy conditions. There is a 60 percent of showers in the city.


On Saturday, the mercury is expected to rise to about 28 degrees in Durban.

There is an 80 percent chance rain in the early morning, becoming cloudy as the day progresses. Showers and thundershowers are expected in the evening.

There is an 80 percent chancing of morning rain in areas like Margate, Underberg, Kokstad, Ixopo, Pietermartizburg and Giant Castle.

There is a 60 percent chance of rain in Richards Bay on the north coast tomorrow morning.

The wet conditions are expected to extend into Sunday.
