Congratulations are streaming for the newly-appointed coach of the national rugby team.
Allister Coetzee was named today by SARU as the new head coach of the Springboks, taking over from Heyneke Meyer.
Coetzee, who was hailed for making the Stormers a beacon of transformation during his tenure as their Super Rugby coach, says there is an acute sensitivity to the transformation agenda is a key area of any South African coach's mandate.

But he also had a responsibility to pick the best possible team.
"We're living in South Africa, I cannot come with a mentality that I'm somewhere else. That uniqueness must make us stronger. It's an exciting challenge. I selected players, it was a merit-based selection and they really performed well," he said.
