The party says it wanted to force a dialogue on transformation in rugby.

The Agency for New Agenda yesterday sought an interdict in the Pretoria High Court to try and prevent our national rugby team from going to the World Cup in England.

Judge Ntendeya Mavundla ruled that the squad can go to the event without any interference.

Mavundla said the debate about transformation, while urgent and important, must not hamper the country's involvement in the tournament.

The party's leader, Tshido Mokhoanatse has welcomed the ruling, saying they achieved some of their objectives.

"When you want to achieve something, you use certain tactics and you manage to draw the attention of this country as well as our courts to an imperative for a need for transformation. We have withdrawn the motion for them to be barred.

"That was not our initial intention. Our intention was to remove the urgency of transformation from government to the purview of the courts and I think that we've achieved," he said.
