'We are determined to uproot corruption': Mkhize

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize's adamant that corruption within the department will be rooted out.

"We are also quite determined to deal with and fight to uproot the corruption and so we are cooperating in the meantime with the ministerial committee to deal with this particular issue where various departments are involved.
"We will be coming to meet with the portfolio committee to respond to the Auditor-General's report. All of us were concerned about some of the irregularities related to the PPE's."

Mkhize tabled the department's R 62 billion budget for the 2021-2022 financial year, on Thursday.
Mkhize's acknowledged that our healthcare sector doesn't have enough resources to take care of its current and future needs.
He said the reduction in funding affects all government departments.
"The health services do need to be funded more than what is happening now. We do understand there are constraints at a government level."
