We are capable of protecting our citizens: SA Government
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The South African Government says it takes the threat of terrorism seriously but is not pleased with how recent terror alerts about the country have been handled by the countries who've issued warnings.
The United States and Britain have warned their citizens of possible attacks particularly in Johannesburg and Cape Town shopping centres.
Australia has also issued an advisory to citizens.

International Relations Spokesperson Clayson Monyela says their actions are "disingenuous and a cause for serious concern".
Monyela says South Africa is capable of securing its country and citizens.
''It is within this context that the South African government rejects attempts by foreign countries to influence, manipulate or control our country's counter terrorism work.
''We reject attempts to generate perceptions of government inaptitude, alarmist impressions and public hysteria on the basis of a questionable single source,'' he said.
