Water shutdown leaves taps dry in iLembe
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Umgeni Water says 29 areas in the iLembe District Municipality will have to make do without running water until 4pm on Thursday afternoon.

This is due to a shutdown of the Lower Tugela Bulk Water Supply Scheme, where Eskom's carrying out emergency work.
The utility's Shami Harichunder says the entire plant's been powered down, which means it isn't able to produce water at the moment.

"The work will begin at about 10am today, and it is expected to be completed 4pm this afternoon. This plant supplies water to iLembe District Municipality from Mandeni, Zinkwazi, Blythedale, and all of Stanger up to Groutville will be affected.
"It means that consumers in these areas will not be able to receive water in that time."
