Water cuts: KZN officials head to crisis-hit south coast
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Willies Mchunu is heading to the south coast today as water challenges in the region continue.
Residents in parts of Ugu have been without water for over a week.
The district municipality claims the breakdown in supply is the result of an illegal strike by municipal workers.
Meanwhile, relief organisation, the Gift of the Givers has brought in tankers to deliver water to some areas.
"The Gift of the Givers is in Port Shepstone so they have delivered two truck loads of water. A third load has been allocated for tomorrow to provide communities with water," the organisation's Imraan Mohamed said.
He says people are suffering.
