Water shedding hits KwaDukuza
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
ILembe District Municipality Mayor Welcome Mdabe says water supply restrictions will kick in from next week in KwaDukuza.

Briefing the media in Ballito this afternoon Mdabe said the production of water at the Umvoti Waterworks has dropped significantly from about 18-million litres a day to around 4.5-million litres.
Municipal officials as well as those from Sembcorp Siza Water and Umgeni Water conducted site visits to a number of waterworks in areas north of Durban to assess the extent of the water shortages.
Mdabe says the municipality currently has around 120 days' worth of water.
''For us to be in a position to extend the number of days with that supply - we would have to restrict water. We'd have to make water available from 4am up until 9am and then from 5pm up to about 9pm at night again,'' he said.
