Water outages in Durban south, northern Ugu areas
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
If you live in one of Durban's southern areas, chances are you've been hit by water supply issues.
eThekwini Municipality says a faulty valve is the culprit.
Repairs are underway, but it's estimated that supplies should return to normal within a day or two.
The city’s spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela says outages or interruptions have been reported in places like Prospecton, Isipingo, Amanzimtoti, KwaMakhutha, Umkhomazi, Ezimbokodweni, Adams, D1060, Mgobhozini and Mfume.
"Teams are currently on the ground fixing a valve that has malfunctioned and we are hoping to return the situation to normalcy with speed.
"We have already dispatched our water tankers to provide water to families that have already been affected."
He says the northern part of the Ugu District Municipality will also be affected.
