Water crisis will be given priority, says Ramaphosa

President Cyril Raamphosa has told the National Assembly that government will prioritise the water crisis the same way it has load shedding.
Ramaphosa on Thursday responded to the debate on the Presidency's budget vote.
He says there are already interventions to solve water-related issues at numerous municipalities.

"We have placed investment in bulk water infrastructure, technical support to municipalities and reform of the water sector foremost among our most pressing tasks. Yes, people can get by without electricity, but they cannot get by without water."
The country's water supply problems have been illuminated by the deaths of 25 people from a cholera outbreak that has been centred in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.
