Water to be restored to some stricken areas in Durban tonight
Updated | By Newswatch
There will be relief for some areas of Durban which have been without water for the past four days, later this evening.

The eThekwini Municipality says it has commissioned the cross-connection from it’s Hocking Reservoir to Washington Heights Reservoir.
This new development will enable water supply to KwaSanti, Luganda, Klaarwater, Washington Heights, Intake, Savannah Park, Nagina, Nsizwakazi and Demat.
According to a statement from the municipality, running water will return to taps tonight as the city builds capacity to the reservoirs.
“The contractor is hard at work installing the broken pump in Northdene which will enable all areas affected to get water,” the city said.
While the repair work will bring much needed relief to some areas, it is unclear whether water will be restored in Chatsworth, Shallcross and Harinagar.
“The public is urged to refrain from impeding water tankers to proceed to other areas. We apologise profusely for the inconvenience caused and thank the public for understanding,” the statement read.
