Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize is currently visiting Prince Mshiyeni Hospital in Umlazi.
It’s part of his inspections of health facilities in the province.
Mkhize, flanked by KZN Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu, arrived at the hospital about an hour ago and immediately disappeared into a meeting.
Members of the media have been told they can’t attend this, but what we do know is that Mkhize will be briefed by the MEC and HOD of the provincial health department.

A district profile will also be presented by the Department of Health’s acting district director in Ethekwini.
After the briefing, Mkhize will do a walk-about of the hospital. It’s understood he’ll inspect the COVID-19 section of the facility, including isolation wards.
The minister is also expected to make stops at King Dinuzulu Hospital, KwaMashu Clinic and Umhlanga Private Hospital.
