WATCH: Zuma appears in court, supporters gather outside

Supporters have gathered outside the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Tuesday morning, to get behind Jacob Zuma.

The former president's corruption, fraud and money laundering trial is underway.

Last week, high court judges dismissed Zuma's application with costs for a permanent stay of prosecution.
He is alleged to have received bribes from French arms company, Thales.
It is a high profile case attracting media attention from around the world.
These supporters say they will stand with Zuma until the end of his legal battle.

77-year-old Zuma's facing one count of racketeering, two counts of corruption, one count of money laundering, and 12 counts of fraud.
SAPS spokesperson, Jay Naicker says there's a high police presence in and outside the court.
