A massive power outage hit residents across several areas of Durban on Tuesday evening.
eThekwini Municipality says the outage is due to a trip at a key substation.

“Our technicians are currently investigating," the city’s spokesperson Lindiwe Khuzwayo said.
East Coasters living in the city have told Newswatch that areas like Mariannhill, Kloof, Pinetown, Northdene, Gillits, the Bluff, Wentworth and KwaMashu are some of the areas affected by the outage.
Residents have also shared detailed accounts of what is believed to have been explosions at some substations.
The cause of the outage has not yet been confirmed.
