WATCH: Suspect in court after South Coast Road shooting

On Tuesday, video footage emerged on social media showing the 28-year-old victim leaving work when the suspect appears to open fire at her. 

In the video - the woman is seen trying to escape and is seen collapsing down a flight of stairs after being shot.

The man is then seen fleeing the scene. Police have confirmed the incident, saying this occurred on South Coast Road. He was later arrested in the Chatsworth area.

The suspect is being charged with murder. Police say motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.

In a statement released to Newswatch, officials say the Brighton Beach SAPS are investigating the incident further. 

Police could not confirm if the victim was in a relationship with the suspect.
