Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Durban police are searching for the culprits who were caught on camera stoning a group of officers in Chatsworth, south of Durban.
A clip of the incident began circulating on social media sites recently.
It shows an angry mob hurling stones at cars that sped past them in Savannah Park.
KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the incident happened on Thursday, 27 October when a suspect took investigators probing a missing person's case to the spot where the victim's body had been dumped.

Gwala says when the police returned to their vehicle, a group of residents began to attack them.
Two officers were hurt and their car was damaged.
Gwala has issued this warning on the repercussions for anyone who commits public violence.
"We are appealing to the members of the community to let the police do their own investigations and not to embark on any form of public violence because that amounts to criminality. [They could have] criminal charges instituted against them."
